NGNS offers classes for children aged 2, 3, 4, and 5 years, as well as extracurricular activities throughout the school year. During the summer months, North Guilford Nursery School runs its popular summer camp sessions for children (and parents!) who just can’t bear to be away from the school all summer long!
Being located next to Melissa Jones School has its advantages: once a month, NGNS children take a trip to the elementary school library to hear stories read by the school librarian. It’s always an exciting trip for the children, as they walk next door as a class and get to be part of the “big school” for a short time. These monthly visits also help children get familiar with the elementary school environment, as many go on to continue their education at Melissa Jones.
In addition to our regularly scheduled activities, we often have guests and visitors from various professions come and teach the children about their jobs, as well as about the greater community. In the past, we’ve had visits from firefighters and police officers, music makers, dentists and doctors, as well as Critter Caravan, a traveling menagerie that the kids always love.
